  • What parking and EV charging facilities are there?

    The cottage has its own private driveway with off-road parking, including an EV charging point.

  • How many guest and how are the beds configured?

    Blackburn Cottage sleeps up to four guests across two bedrooms.

    Both bedrooms have zip-and-link beds that can be made up as king-size doubles or separated into twin singles. Let us know your preference when booking and we’ll have the rooms ready on arrival.

  • Is the property child friendly?

    Yes, the bathroom is fitted with a bath, handheld and overhead shower. Two cots and two high chairs are available.

  • Can we walk to the local pub?

    To walk to the closest pub will take about 30 minutes

  • Where is the nearest shop or supermarket?

    Newcastleton village is just minutes from the cottage and has local shops for essentials.
    For a larger supermarket, Langholm (approx. 20 mins) has a large Co-Op, Hawick (17 miles) and Carlisle (24 miles) are both around 45 minutes by car.

  • What is the check-in and check-out time?

    Check-in from 3pm, check-out by 10am

  • Is there Wifi?

    Wifi is available throughout the cottage.

  • Can we bring our bicycles?

    Yes of course!

  • Are dogs allowed?

    Yes. Blackburn Cottage is dog friendly. The private enclosed garden, boot room with direct garden access, and the surrounding estate make it ideal for guests travelling with dogs. Please note that dogs are not permitted on the beds or sofas. During bird nesting season, from 31st March to 31st August, we ask that all dogs are kept on leads across the estate. This is to protect the ground-nesting birds that are central to our conservation work at Blackburn and Hartsgarth.
